Englishman liked to be in Ukrainian mental hospital

A 33-year-old traveller from London has been already living for two weeks in a mental hospital of Sumy oblast.

The Englishman arrived to Ukraine to see Slobozhanshchina (Kharkov oblast), but he did not reach Kharkov: there was a traffic accident with him on the road and then he was hospitalised.

The man does not understand a word in Russian or Ukrainian, but he speaks constantly: "Ukraine - Yes! Vivat Ukraine! Doctors super". The foreigner appeared in the hospital at the end of October. On the highway his Mitsubishi jeep failed to follow the road bend and it appeared in a ditch. Long-distance truck drivers, who were witnesses of the traffic accident, delivered the man in militia. Militiamen were disturbed by the inadequate behaviour of the foreigner: the man shouted, grasped militiamen by uniforms and demanded to kill him. The wretched person was sent to a local mental hospital.

In the medical establishment the Englishman at first refused to eat, he smelled hospital food only. In a few days he adapted himself, began to visit a general canteen, and nurses were so imbued to the wretched with sympathy that they began to feed him up with home delicacies - they bring pizza and sandwiches specially for the unusual patient. "He indeed has mental disorders. We'll treat him a little bit and in two-three weeks he will be discharged," said the chief doctor of the Sumy regional specialized hospital No.2 Volodymyr Poltavtsev, the newspaper "Segonia"("Today") reports.

Charles found himself in Ukraine due to his passion to trips. "There are a few empty pages in his passport. He was both in Africa and on islands. It seems that he travelled all over the earth", commented that event the chief of the Okhtyrka town department of citizenship Serhiy Shpak. Militiamen have got contacted with a consulate and relatives of the Englishman. Charles has a brother, who answered that he is not able to come to Ukraine at the present moment, but all treatment expenses must be paid by insurance. It is possible that after discharging from the hospital the Englishman will go farther to travel around Ukraine.
