With the course of time each of us has wrinkles, skin saggings and tissue floppiness in area of cheeks and the neck. It takes place due to the natural senescence process, influence of external environment factors and motions of mimic muscles. It is clear that any operation will not stop the senescence process; it removes the visible effects of the age-related changes only. 

Salary increase of some layers of the population allows our fellow-citizens not only to care of their general health but also of attractive appearance. As a result, more and more clinics, which offer their services in the industry of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, appear in Ukraine.

But a doctor is not God, and he is not able to stop the time. After face-lifting an effect lasts for 10-15 years, and in some people - for 5-7 only. Operations can be performed many times. The main problem is after the fifth face-lifting you will not have to close and open your eyes with efforts.

"Skin quality problem is solved by cosmetologists, but if they are not able to help anymore then surgeons can remove you wrinkles and saggings with the help of physical, chemical and injection methods, said Iryna Khrustaleva, an associate professor of the department of plastic and aesthetic surgery of the Medical academy of postgraduate education of Saint Petersburg, a national secretary of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS). - The main task of surgical rejuvenation is the reconstitution of architectonics of a young face. And approach for solving this problem must be complex.

If we speak about operative treatment of gravity changes of a face, the final result depends on many reasons. First of all, how correctly we diagnosed a senescent face and how correctly we have planned operative interferences and methods which are being used for every specific case."

Besides, it is necessary to remember the sequence of ptoses of soft tissues depending on the age: tissues of the top third of the face go down at first, then of the middle part and then of the neck.

The result of a rejuvenation operation, in the opinion of Khrustaleva, can be named good only in the case, when there is the balance of all component parts of the face, neck, eyes and perioral area.

"If a patient comes with basifacial problems, it means and there are problems in the upper part of the face. Fractional surgical interferences lead to abnormalities of harmonies of the face. In that case we have the type of the typical operated face which does not do credit to aesthetic surgeons," Khrustaleva considers.

A purpose of the operation under the name face-lifting is a removal of eyelids lowering, diminishing of the nasolabial fold intensity and renewal of the normal contour of the neck and the chin area. The operation includes the lifting of platysma and other dense hypodermic tissues, and the skin lifting with removal of its redundancy.
